BREWTOWN.— The Art of Coffee Culture.

Well known for their cronuts, Brewtown is yet another beautifully designed coffeehouse that is usually lined up with long trains of people waiting to have a taste of their signature dishes.

The Interior

The cafe has installed a brew bar for patrons to sit and enjoy their meal while watching the friendly baristas working behind the espresso machine, blending the perfect latte/mocha/capuccino/flat white, etc.

Brewtown is built with two floors as they have a collaboration with O’Connell Street Merchants— where browsing of  unique household goods, designer apparels and even getting an affogato ice cream as dessert after brunch is made possible!

Flat White.—the happiest moment when having a cup of coffee is getting to enjoy the piece of art seen on the milkfoam from bird’s eye view.

Elvis burger. ground beef, savory cronut, canadian bacon, gruyere and mayo served with chips and relish

Meatball, tomato, basil sauce and mozzarella baguette
Beetroot cured ocean trout, avocado smash, rye sour dough toast, dill, persian feta & beetroot relish.

121 days in Sydney— Sydney Fish Market; Fresh Seafood and Annoying Seagulls.

At present, I am back in this unfamiliar city. No longer do I feel that I am a 100% tourist.

FLASHBACK: Two years ago, I was here at Sydney Fish Market.
There, I stood under the pouring dark clouds with an umbrella, smiling and snapping the mandatory tourist shot.

And I was here, with my girlfriend, Jessilyn Tan. She’s way better at navigating than me. >.<

The Exterior

As we enter the fish market, we were appalled by the arrangement of the fish market. Unexpectedly, it was a clean and dry market whereby there is no signs of ‘wet’ in their environment.
It is arranged in a Retailer manner.

A warm welcome by all the fresh seafoods: fishes, sashimi, Lobsters, crabs, oysters….. *Drools*

IMG_8675 IMG_8677 IMG_8678

This, so-called ‘fish market’ turns out to be a large tourist eatery instead.

IMG_8680 IMG_8682

A wide selection of seafood to choose from! Even if you are a fussy/ picky eater, this place will certainly satisfy your cravings.

IMG_8683 IMG_8686 IMG_8687 IMG_8688

There are cold and hot platters to choose from and also, the retailers available area variety.
We decided to eat at ‘PETER’s’ because they offer a wide range of seafood/ sashimis and prices were pretty affordable.
Eg. You can eat like 100g of salmon sashimi at only $7?! 100g, is alot.

Want to get your hands on these fresh seafood? Then you better visit the SYDNEY FISH MARKET.
And the best part, you won’t get FAT easily with seafood because they provides (example: Salmon) omega 3 fatty acids which are really good for health!

A pleasant sight at 6am.—- I wish to open up my window in the daylight for this view everyday.

#Day 2: Virgin SKII-ers.

As mentioned in my previous post, I lived in a pretty luxurious apartment named, Shinsetsu.
Seriously, life here will be great. Boring as it seems, but there was a hell loads of leisure activities available. Not to forget, ultimate relaxation and spa one could yearn for.– Soaking in the hot onsen in a cold, snowy weather. Now, that is indeed life in paradise.

The exterior of Shintsetsu.

The trail that we walk out of Shinsetsu to the mart and around the village.

And just outside this wooden cottage, lies a pile or rather, a pool of powder snow.

Ever since I was a child, living in a one season country makes me desire for a day to see what makes christmas a jolly season.— Snow.

Just like all kids on TV shows, they played Snowball fights, makes Snow angels and also, their very own SNOWMAN.
I want to do all that! And I am proud to say, Yes. I did it.
I’ve waited 20 years of life to finally chance upon this magical season. Dreams do come true.

So, here I am, standing alone on the walking trail at the time of 8am. I couldn’t sleep at all since the last night. Not that I am scared or nervous, but more of the fact that I am too excited and I can’t wait to turn myself into a 3 years old kid to play in the snow.

Ski lessons only starts in the afternoon but already wide awake and ready for the day of excitement and fun!

After 30 mins, I build my own snowman. Because there wasn’t any props around except those lying sticks on the ground. The facial expression of my snowman turns out like this. (see image below).

Well, it’s pretty cute isn’t it? >.<

It’s so cute!! My creation! I am so proud of myself.
One of my lifetime wish.– Fufiled.

OH! Have I forgot to mention that winter is also the best season because it makes your skin flawless! I swear I was on minimal make up only and my face still looks damn clean and fresh.

Attempting to feel snow in my face as it was snowing non-stop again.
Caution: Selfie Spam below, can’t help it, but my skin really look so damn good! Flawless!

DSC03395 DSC03397 DSC03399 IMG_6563

Crazy it may sound, but I love falling down, especially onto these powder white snow.

Lying down on the snow like an idiot, ignoring all the weird stares from passer-bys, I am trying to form my snow angels.

IMG_6538 DSC03391
Whee~ I was having so much fun just by lying on them.
DSC03394 IMG_6566
My ‘sad’ face because annoying Jason keep pushing me down.
It’s snowing! snowing! Just had to snap a picture before these beautiful sight are gone!

One of this best trip was to spot this lovely snow dog. It is so friendly and it lives in the Australian house— that explains why it is so friendly since his owners are too!

The ‘struggling’ stroll up the mountain and renting of skiis and boots took an hour plus before leading us to this magnificent snow mountain!

Because we took an hour to reach the mountain, we were late for our ski lesson but our instructor was so nice to allow us to extend the time. He is from England. Amazing man, he only lives during the winter season with snow. — What does this mean? He travels to different countries for snow throughout the year to teach and to live. Amazing.

Snow flakes falling from the sky again!

And so, to end this tiring yet exciting day, a group photo! Of course!

Ski, one of my favourite sport. For a first timer, I can proudly say I do ski pretty well! Even tho, the boots are heavy and seriously challenging my leg muscles, but still, it’s worth the muscle ache and pains for this wonderful experience. Marked vividly in my mind.

Maybe I should be a Ski instructor one day and just live in the winter season… Idea? ^^

Food and Shopping Paradise: HONG KONG II + Shenzhen

One of the best buffet I ever had in my life— miraculously found in the not-so famous town.

Continuing my trip to Hong kong from Part 1

#Day 3. FoodPORN in Mainland China- SHEN ZHEN

Every visit to Hong Kong, we will definitely go over to China. Why?
Because they got good food, good massage and at cheap cheap low prices.

This time, it was kinda different as my dad decided to bring us to the awesome buffet place that he and my bro had been mentioning ever since their first visit there.

Before we get to the Food part….
We did 3hours of shopping at the usual shopping centre of Shenzhen, where we bargain like a boss. >.<

After that 3 hours of shopping, we went to have our hair washed. Hair wash? Does this sound ridiculous to you? I mean, who the hell goes to China to wash their hair? Well, we do!

Priced at as low as 30RMB = SGD$6, you get a hair wash, rather, a hair, head  and hand massage of 30 minutes long. Unlike Singapore where we sit and wash our hair, over in China, it’s like lying on a bed instead. You can fall asleep cause that is how shiok it was!

So of course the washing and blowing of hair took quite a few hours.. and very soon, it was dinner time.

This buffet restaurant literally has everything. When i say everything, it means really everything!

Definition of Everything:

  • Free flow of Fruit juice, alcohol, beer, milk shakes, soft drinks
  • Teppanyaki foo of all kinds
  • Fresh sushi and sashimis
  • Fried tempuras
  • Scallops

And many more…. Doesn’t all these just makes you go ‘SLURP and DROOLS’?!

We were all seated in front a teppanyaki chef. He cooks right in front of us, fresh meats!

The Food

Definitely one of the most heavenly place I ever visited in my life. It’s Godly. EVERYTHING YOU WANT, YOU FIND IT HERE.

The Price

Super worthwhile. Priced at about 200+RMB for so much variety? Where to find in Singapore?

The Ambiance

Thumbs up! Its exactly like a Chinese well established high class restaurant. Nothing sloppy at all.

Such good food… located and hidden at one corner. Holy.

#Day 4. MONGKOK, best shopping district!

Written on my happiness project book, it was a rainy day in Hong Kong.

But we did not let the rain dampened our holiday spirit, we still go on with the plan of shopping!
So as usual, morning routine, I will go to grammy’s place to visit her and greet her ‘ Good morning!’ (cantonese version)

Yea, it was raining alright.

Bring that pairs of slippers and umbrella..eh eh eh….

Walked out or my house to Dim sum restaurant with gramps!
Scrumptious, mouth watering meal as always. FEAST!  Come on, It is Hong Kong we are talking about, where dim sum originated!

Har gau!

Siew Mai.

And of course, us and gramps — everlasting health! IMG_6105

After that serious Burping-ly FULL  meal of dim sums, we head off to Mong kok!
Taking the public bus— when you travel, you need to take public transport in order to know the city better.

IMG_6048 IMG_6058Selfie session in the bus!

Oh, and did I not mention, on that day, I just had this strong urge to give centre parting a try.. And God, I sure do resemble my sister almost 90%. Creepy -.-

Our shopping starts immediate, on the dot as soon as our feet touch the grounds of Mong Kok.

Agryle Shopping centre. Toy Mart. Chic Mall. Ladies Street.— we covered almost every bits of Mong Kok.

This poodle belongs to one of the shop owners in Agryle Shopping Centre.

IMG_6081Curry fishballs— MY LOVE!
Located just outside Toy Mart. That is where we get all out street food!

Almost about 6 hours of non stop shopping. Tired and exhausted, most of us fell asleep in the one hour bus ride home.

And I am so happy with my LOOTS~
But damn, I bought less than expected.

Yet another tiring but super worthwhile day.

#Day 5. Bad weather. Ocean Park got strike off the Itinerary.

Ever Since the day before, the rain in HK never stopped.
Hence, we had to cancel our plan to Ocean Park.

But we were all pretty tired from shopping long hours ytd, so we decided to just stay in Yuen Long and rest.

Bought some stuffs from Yuen Long.

am very happy with my BUYS! Heehee!

And we had awesome steak that night at ANNA’s!

I love food and shopping in HONG KONG!! Do you? 🙂

To be continued darlings…. Stay tune 🙂

Food and Shopping Paradise: HONG KONG I

‘Above the ground, Hitting the skies to paradise. ‘

An annual traveler to Hong Kong.

This makes me ‘take advantage’ of the fact that I get to travel at least once a year.  Hong Kong has always been rated as ‘BORING’ to me. Used to, as I was a kid and I do not have any idea on what’s food and shopping to me. OR should I be specific, the chance to see the world.

However, now that I am so busy with my life. Holidays are essential to me. It is my only breaktime to be away from the shit loads of work always piling on to me every month.

Hence, Hon Kong doesn’t seem that boring to me anymore. I had planned this Hong Kong trip with Maxine long ago as our graduation trip. This time, I want to travel to Hong Kong with friends instead. But this mini trip ended as a Family and Friends trip.

Something new, but its still worth the experience and fun we can have together.

Airline: Jetstar Airways

Accommodation: MY SUITE IN YUEN LONG

Duration: 9 Days 8 Night

#Day 1: Ready, Set, GO!

It was a super early flight to Hongkong. I guess I have a thing for EARLY FLIGHTs– realised all my flights are always before sunrise.
Super tired yet excited us were all perked up!

oh, did I not mention that this trip was somehow my bro’s last trip as he was going to NS as soon as he comes back.

The three and half hours journey in the skies flew like a breeze. We were all too exhausted and just slept through.
Very quickly, we were welcomed by my relatives and my dad at the airport where we were picked to my second home, YUEN LONG.
SO, we managed to be greeted by DIM SUM and I finally get to taste my favourite bun on EARTH. CUSTARD BAO.

The first day was just a day of settling down and getting our rooms packed to sleep in.
We only walked around my home area and also to just keep eating. Come on, you are on a holiday. No dieting man,

Curry fishballs and chee cheong fan!  Favourite supper dish okay!

Oh, we visited a new dessert place and damn it was good! Especially love the pastry layered mango dessert, topped with ice cream.
God, it taste heavenly!

Introducing my HK cousins !

Rise and Shine! We were all ready and packed for an exciting day ahead!

Travel like an adventurer, but play like a kid. Yes, that’s what we do.

Breakfast: At Sai Yuen. Offering the best french toast in the world.
Maxine couldn’t get enough of this.
